Miner’s Right Pinot Gris 2022
Tasting notes
Delicate aromas of orange blossom and fresh-cut pear with a backdrop of damp slate and alluring nuances of jasmine and honey. The palate is rich and round with ripe nashi pear, crunchy apple and subtle notes of wild honey, and gingerbread. The bright stonefruit flavours, weighty creamy texture and bright acidity are balanced and carry through to a long finish.
Food match: Antipasto, roast chicken and seafood
Wine making notes
The fruit was hand-harvested on the 27th of April 2022 at 22 brix from Three Miners Vineyard, near Alexandra. The fruit was whole bunch pressed to tank and the juice allowed to settle before being racked. Fermentation was started using selected wine yeast and stopped once flavour and acid balance was achieved.
